Gite "Les Quatre Vents"
	looking south
Les Quatre Vents  is a lovely old traditional building with massive stone walls, oak beams and timbers – full of charm and character.

The cottage was formerly the barn, stables and cider press of a farm dating from 1760, which has been sympathetically restored and converted into spacious, modern and comfortable self-catering holiday accommodation which can be enjoyed all year round.

In warmer months, the thick stone walls keep the interior of the cottage cool, whilst for holidays taken in cooler months, the cottage is centrally heated throughout and there is an open stone fireplace for cosy log fires.

This 250 year old property is set in lovely countryside very close to the Manche/Calvados border, 3 miles from the village of Cerisy-la-Forêt – roughly mid-way between Bayeux and Saint-Lô.

It is in an elevated position at the end of a no-through lane with beautiful views over unspoilt, protected countryside and a wooded valley towards the nearby 5,250-acre forest of Cerisy.

Les Quatre Vents  provides the perfect central base from which to explore this part of Normandy so rich in history and heritage, art and culture, nature and gastronomy.  You are within 30 minutes of beautiful sandy beaches, the medieval cathedral city of Bayeux with its world-famous Tapestry, the D-Day Sites and Museums, and about 1 hour to the Mont St Michel.  The immediate countryside and forest are great for walking, cycling, pony-trekking, fishing and birdwatching.

On arrival at Les Quatre Vents you enter the large private courtyard (minibus-accessible) where there is parking for several cars.

The courtyard is very pretty with attractively planted pots and window-boxes, also fragrant climbing roses and honeysuckle.

Automatic outside lighting.

You can enjoy lovely views over a wooded valley towards Cerisy forest.

There are more climbing roses, honeysuckle and jasmine.

The borders are filled with hundreds of spring-flowering bulbs and many colourful shrubs.
